About This Service
2018. The service is currently registered to cater for a maximum of 33 children attending the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme and also provides part time and full day care. Children aged 2½ to 6 years are accommodated and a school age service is also available. Daily opening hours are from 7:30am to 6:00pm. The ECCE Scheme is facilitated over 38 weeks annually and the service is open for approximately 50 weeks of the year. Premises The service operates from a two storey detached building, which is located on the main road through the village of Glounthaune in Co. Cork. Two care rooms, a gym room and sanitary facilities are located on the ground floor, along with a kitchen. On the first floor, there is a large partitioned room, a room for school age children, storage space, a work room and child sanitary facilities. The children have access to an enclosed outdoor play space, located at the rear of the premises. Since the previous inspection on 12/8/2020, a new shed has been incorporated into the outdoor play area, which is currently in use as an office/storage space. The proposed additional 11 children will be accommodated in the second section of the partitioned room, on the first floor of the premises. The other section of the room is currently in use to cater for 11 children attending the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme.
