About This Service
This service was first opened in September 2008 as a voluntary full day care service. The service is purpose built and is in the town of Athenry in a private residential area of the town. The service operates a sessional, part-time and full day care service for children aged from 2 years to 6 years. The service operates from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The service caters for children that are neurodiverse or have been diagnosed with down syndrome. The services focus is to develop individualised educational programmes to support children’s language, communication and learning to prepare them for integration into mainstream education settings. The service works in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary supports which include the early intervention team, a speech and language therapist, occupational therapist and behaviour specialist. The service has 3 playrooms, sensory room, sanitary facilities, kitchen, staff room and an office. There is also an outdoor play area to the rear of the service.
