About This Service
Naíonra an Tearmann is an Irish language based naíonra situated in the rural townland of Termon village, 14 kilometres from the main town of Letterkenny in County Donegal. A part time service for up to 22 children aged from 2 – 6 years is provided. The service operates weekdays from 9am – 1.55pm for the duration of the funded pre-school year. This non-profit service operates under Comhar Naíonraí na Gaeltachta Teó. Naíonra an Tearmann offers care and education to children through an emerging curriculum delivered through the medium of Irish, promoting the natural use of the language among the children. The service operates within a former national school built in 1892, which has been upgraded and adapted for the provision of the early years’ service. Facilities include one large playroom, an entrance hallway, a kitchen and sanitary areas. An outdoor play area for children is situated along the front and one side of the building. A school-age service is not provided.
