About This Service
This part time pre-school service is located in Scoil Cholm Cille national school in Tully Ballinahown West of Galway city. An Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) pre-school and sessional care programmes are provided from 9.00hrs to 12.00hrs, and a part time service between 9.00hrs and 14.00 hrs Monday to Friday. The pre-school caters for children aged between 2 years 8 months to 6 years of age. Additionally, an afterschool programme from 13.30hrs to 18.00hrs is offered to school aged children. A classroom in the school is utilised for the playroom. A quiet rest area with child size couches and soft matting are available for children to rest or opt out of an activity if they wishes to do so. The pre-school children have access to a secure outdoor play area at the front of the premises, for children’s play activities, fresh air, and exploration. A child centred play-based pre- school curriculum focusing on emerging interests is provided. The service is under the governance of Comhar Naíonraí na Gaeltachta and provides the service through the medium of Irish.
